Your birth date, and — only if you choose to give them — your birth time and the nearest town or city you were born in. If you ask us to send you your piece, your email address, for that purpose only. We never ask for your current location, a microphone, or a camera, and there are no accounts, so nothing else is collected to identify you.
They're used to compose your piece and kept, linked only to your piece's private key, so your personal page and any later re-renders keep working — we don't delete them automatically. Ask us at any time and we'll delete what's linked to your key.
Used once, to send you a link to your piece, then deleted — unless you ticked "keep me posted, rarely," in which case we keep it only for that occasional mailing until you unsubscribe.
The rendered audio itself is cached on our server so a repeat visit doesn't need to re-render it, and is cleared automatically over time as the cache fills. Anything you download is yours, on your own device, under your control.
No advertising, no third-party trackers or analytics, and we never sell or share your details with anyone. Your browser locally remembers whether you've completed the headphone setup step, so you're not asked twice — that stays on your device and is never sent to us.
We process your birth details on the basis of legitimate interest — composing the piece you specifically asked for wouldn't be possible without them. The optional mailing list runs on your consent alone, given by ticking the box, and withdrawable at any time.
Under UK GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or erase what we hold about you, and to object to how it's used. To exercise any of these, email info@sphiral.me. You also have the right to complain to the UK's supervisory authority, the Information Commissioner's Office.
If this policy changes materially, the date above changes, and we'll flag any significant change before it applies to you.
